What is VPS Hosting?

VPS stands for Virtual Private Server and it refers to a private, emulated dedicated hosting environment created through virtualization on a cluster of servers.

It’s become a popular choice because it's lower in cost than dedicated server hosting but provides better reliability, security, and performance than shared hosting.

A virtual private server acts like a physical server and allows for resources such as RAM, bandwidth, storage and processing power to be dedicated to your account.

Shared hosting environments also do not provide full root access to the server, as opposed to VPS package where users are given full root access to perform commands and make configuration changes to their hosting environment.
